Company Overview

Australis Oil & Gas Ltd. (Australis) is an oil and gas company founded with the goal of providing superior shareholder returns through the acquisition, development and monetisation of high quality unconventional upstream assets.

Formed by the founders and executives of Aurora Oil & Gas Limited (Aurora), an oil and gas company focused on unconventional onshore oil & gas exploration, development and production in the USA. Aurora went public with an initial market cap of ~A$30 million and was sold in June 2014 for an enterprise value of A$2.6 billion, including assumed debt of approximately A$800 million.

Australis has now accumulated a large strategic position within possibly the last delineated and appraised but undeveloped oil shale basins onshore in the USA, becoming the largest acreage holder in the production-defined core area of the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (TMS), onshore Louisiana and Mississippi. Independent reserve engineers have allocated a mid-case recovery resource of over 120 million barrels of oil (including ~3 million barrels of proved producing reserves) to the Australis TMS acreage and Australis operates 33 wells in the TMS core with non-operated interests in a further 21 wells.

The Australis board and key management are experienced with a successful track record in recognising value where others do not and in acquiring, developing, managing, financing and realising that value from oil and gas assets. The Australis position within the TMS core, with its associated production and cashflow, proven reserves and large undeveloped resource, provide the platform for significant value creation for Australis shareholders.
